O'Ryan, the Irishman in the Sky!

O'Ryan, the Irishman in the sky!

Last night I was awestruck at how clearly we could see the stars. Orion was right there! Of all of the things that I know so very little about, astronomy is one of my favorites.

What is out there? How far is it to the next most earth like planet? Is there anything out there like earth? Are we unique? God knows the answer. It all belongs to Him so I don’t mind saying that I have no idea what all is out there.

I stepped out the back with K-Dog and looked up. Wow!! I called my daughter, “Come and see this!” Leaving that goofy dog in the back yard we headed to the front yard. “Ooo! Cool!” she said. She quickly snatched her phone to take pictures.

As she was taking pictures of Orion, our little kitty cat neighbor came running from the other house next door. “Mew!!” The silly cat likes us. We stroked her back and my daughter took pictures of her.

I heard someone say that he didn’t want everything. He just knew what he likes and wants more of it. It’s times with family that I cherish. Even that little kitty cat neighbor brings a smile.

What are some of the things you like? What would you do to get more of it? More time for the things you love, with those you love, to share it with would be great, right? I agree with you!

Check this out. With a means and a little direction I believe you can make it happen.

Now What?

Now what??

Back in the office now. It is time to write a blog. I love to write my blogs. Telling stories is just my thang.

The house is cold and my arm freezes each time I touch this metal chair. I hear my sweet as she putters in the next room. K-Dog is lazy this time of morning. I don’t even think the postman could get him excited enough to even get him off of the couch. Little kitty cat neighbor is still hunting her invisible prey somewhere. There is a ledge she likes to sit on at the neighbor’s house. She will sit there and stare into our kitchen window watching us wash dishes. The heater is humming as it warms this old house.

This is the last week of school before Christmas break. We will have 3 weeks before school revs up once again.

Ok! What can I write about? Is there anything interesting enough to entertain my readers? I wish that I could hand you a bag of jerky to enjoy. The last time I tried to do that I got stuff on the screen. They frown on it when I make messes like that.

Sweet daughter wants to go to a book store after school. Looks like we will do that later. Me? I’m a bit more of a homebody. Sure I like to go out sometimes. More often than not, I rather stay here and blog.

May I ask you a question? I have written several blogs by now but I am still not sure what folks like for me to write about.

I have found someone who will help me with my blogging. She ensures me that I can make an income by using my blogs to offer my jerky products and opportunity. The whole idea is to write  about the thing I am passionate about. That is something that I would have to think about.

Stories are what I like to write. Many of my blogs are like a conversation. This is one of them. The thing of it is, how can I write stories and get people to sign up to get jerky? I have many stories written but I cannot say that they have helped my business.

On Face Book I find many interesting things to repost from my feed. Cute animals, nice music, and many other things I have posted on my wall. I place links to my blogs there as well. Still, I haven’t been able to truly help anyone in getting them to join my sweetie and me in this jerky business that way.

Something is missing. Something has got to be tweaked. Is that how you say it? What can it be? In reading my new friends information it is easy to see that she is very knowledgeable. I don’t know how many times I will have to read her free online book before I understand what to do but I can tell you one thing. She has my name, email address, and she knows where I am on Face Book. She has stuff to teach me and I want to learn it.

Here is a hoot! Would I get folks to sign up to my auto responder to get stories about K-Dog? I downed a pot of coffee and I am still trying to figure all of this out. There is an astronomical amount of folks we need to sign up and I mean now. The reason anyone goes into business is to generate an income. A business that costs only about $14 a month should have many interested.

I would love to keep blabbing to you about all of this but I have to read her book again and get with it.

OK!! I quit!

You don't quit!!

You don’t quit!

When you know beyond any other’s reasoning that you have found a great business, you don’t quit. When you are surrounded on every side with sympathetic eyes and no buys, you don’t quit. When you have people that you trusted to join when they said that they would and they don’t, you don’t quit. After you have made videos after videos and no one signs up, you don’t quit. When you toil day after day on blog after blog and still no one joins, you don’t quit. When you go to the grocery store knowing that you can’t even afford to buy a decent bill of groceries, you don’t quit.

Everyone in the store knows that I am in a business that can free them from slavery to a job. They are watching me. They see if this thing is paying off. Maybe they are just that dull. There are this who want the security of having a boss to tell them when to come to work, what to do when they are there, when they can go to the bathroom, when to go on break, how long they can be on break, when they can go on vacation…. They are paid just as little as the store can keep them punching the clock. That seems to keep them happy.

I have made an appointment with a guy there. Actually I was kind enough to give him a second chance after he stood me up the first time. I don’t talk to him about it any more. Can you figure out why?

A friend showed me the simplest, straight forward, affordable network marketing business that I had ever seen. I said NO!!! I wanted to cuss a blue streak because at the time I was extremely angry with her and so I was angry with this industry as well. My “friend” led me into a business that was a scam. It was so dishonest that she instructed me to lie in order to get people in. That was the last straw!! I will not, no way, no how, involve my name to something dishonest. Then she showed me Jerky Direct.

Every question I had was answered at the website. How much is the product? I found it easily. What came with the two bags of jerky that I had to buy? A website with everything you need to know is right there. Something this good could not be real. It is though. What about the payment plan? So many hide that information from you until you have already given them permission to take money from your charge card. Not Jerky Direct. The payment plan is easy to fine and easy to understand.

The bases of this business is this. You buy two bags of the jerky of your choice every month. Anything you want to know about any and all flavors are there at your website. There is nothing hidden.

Once you are signed up you can share with your friends. I am of the opinion that if you have affordable products that are universally enjoyed, anyone who is a friend would join just to get the product and help you out even if they don’t wan to build a network of their own. After all, if you had a store in town would your friends buy stuff from you or would they avoid your store all together?

Shut Up Dog!

Shut up dog!

Sometimes I wonder about that dog. When the weather is nice, I let him out to the back yard. It is good for a dog to be able to go outside and do what dogs like to do.

I spy on him from the window in my office. There he is! Why did he go behind those bushes? Here he comes. “What are you eating? You are so goofy!”

We labeled the places in the yard he goes to. There is Kitty Cat corner. Many neighborhood cats hide there among some junk on the other side of the fence. I suspect that there will be a new generation coming from there in late spring. Again. The chicken fence is where he goes to bark at chickens and little snappy dogs. Little kitty cat neighbor lays in a bench next door. She has K-Dog where she wants him. She comes over to our yard as though she owns the place and he best stay back.

Our other neighbor is a retired coach. When ever I let the dog out, the first place he runs to is that corner by the coaches house.

One day K-Dog was barking at the coaches fence. Oh man! What was going on? There must have been another cat sitting where he could only smell it. We cracked up when we heard the coach holler at the dog, “Hey!! Give it a brake!!”

Sweet daughter and I like to take K-Dog for walks on nice days. It is usually a good half hour walk. The last time that goofy dog pulled out of his harness. Now what do we do. There was no way that I could run after him. She tore out after him franticly calling his name.

He ran up to a small Asian man. “Can you catch my dog?” I bet his eyes were as big as dinner plates as he saw K-Dog running at him at full speed. “Does he bite?!?” He was in no danger but I bet the man thought he was a goner. She got him and we went home.

Do you enjoy my blogs as much as I do writing them? Please considering helping us out by ordering 2 bags of jerky each month. This way you get a tasty treat every month and we get helped too. As an added bonus, you will be able to sign up your friends and get paid as well!

Can I pick’m or what?

Can I pick’m or what?

Last night I realized something.  There have been times when we were having to look for a new church home. What do you look for? Could it be the preacher? When we found this church they were looking for a pastor. Could it be the nice new building? This one needs help. How do you find a good church?

Let me tell you. We have had many good times there eating the most wonderful meals. We sat at a table with three ladies that were even older than we are. Oh the stories they told were far better than watching a hollywood movie. The food was top notch. The fellowship was even better.

Getting up to bet just a little bit more I took note of all of the grey heads of the finest grandma cooks in Texas. Everything was prepared with love. Do you know how it feels to be around this much love? Everyone there has a story or two or three or…. Got to love’m.

I sat next to our one Yankee in the church. She and I talked about the winters up in New York. She perked up to find out that I live there many years ago. She talked about when she was a little girl, she would ice skate or a frozen swamp. “If the ice wasn't thick enough you get your skate wet and that was all you had to worry about. We had lots of fun.” she said. I told her about our first trip to Niagara Falls. It was during one of the worst blizzards in Buffalo. Remind me to tell you that story some other time.

After we ate, Pastor took the mic around the room having us tell stories about past Christmases.  Some told funny stories. Other stories were sweet remembrances from childhood. Pastor told us of a time when he and his family came home from a long road trip. It was very late. They were all hungry and road weary. I bet that they were more than a little bit cranky. Thankfully some from the church he served at at that time took good care of the house while they were gone. Now they are back and so glad to be off of that long trip. “Is there anything in the refrigerator at all?” He opened the door and saw a chocolate cake. “Wasn’t that thoughtful? They left a nice chocolate cake.” He pulled that out ands got ready to serve it up. Slicing the cake and BOOM! The cake was a bunt cake with a balloon hidden in the center. Oh, they laugh now but I bet they didn’t find it very amusing at the time.

We are not perfect, but that is not requirement to be loved. Everyone there had a past. Everyone there could tell of things that were done that they shouldn’t have done. That is everyone, right? We all need Jesus, His love, His forgiveness, and His help in times of difficulty.

A good church is filled with imperfect people who genuinely love the other imperfect people there.

Don’t let the hypocrites rob you from finding a church where you can feel loved.

End Run

End Run

An end run is a play in foot ball where the ballcarrier tries to run around the end of the defensive line. We often use “end run” as a way to express an evasive trick or maneuver not thought of by the opponent.

Have you ever tried to read through the genealogies in the Bible? I try to avoid reading those. I have always thought that they are important and have a meaning that can be figured out but every time I saw “begat” I “be gone” to the next paragraph. Lazy? I know.

Sunday mornings our pastor has been preaching through the genealogy in Matthew. The auditorium was so cold this morning that I kept thinking about my ski gear that I had long years ago when I lived in New York. Now, back in Texas I only need that gear in church.  I was so fascinated by Pastor’s insight and information! I wrapped up as well as I could and took a few notes.

All through the Old Testament, it is account after account of the enemy trying to keep the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 from ever happening. Attempt after attempt was made but the game wasn’t over. Where will that seed come through?

Eventually the focus point was on the King of Israel. Saul was an easy target. David came next and an unconditional promise was given to him in 1 Samuel 7:11-16.  “thy throne shall be established for ever.” is found at the end of verse 16. This was unconditional. This means that it is all up to God and David could not mess it up.

Solomon was the next king over Israel and God made him promises too in 1 Kings 9:4-7. There is a word found here that is not found in the promise given to David. The word was “if.” That’s right! This is not unconditional. When we are told “don’t” we do and when we are told “do” we don’t. Solomon was like that too. Believe you me, that dude messed up big time. Once again, where is the seed coming through?

When you go through the genealogy in Matthew you see the name “Solomon” right there as big as all out doors! You can’t miss that in Matthew 1:6. You can’t change the fact that Joseph was a descendant of Solomon. All bets are off on that line. Joseph and his descendants are denied the thrown of David because of the failure of Solomon. Wow! Hang on just a minute! Jesus was not of Joseph’s line. Jesus is not his son. He is the son of Mary!

In Luke 3 we see the genealogy of Mary. There it goes all of the way back to Adam. Come forward a bit to King David mentioned in her genealogy. Did you know that Solomon had 3 brothers? Mary’s line was not through Solomon. Her line went through his brother,  Nathan. Luke 3:31. The seed was hidden. This is the end run of all end runs, wouldn’t you say? There is no mention of anyone after Nathan up to Mary. The seed came through that way.

The enemy could not prevent the virgin birth of Jesus and he cannot prevent any of the rest of the promises of God from happening. Jesus is coming back very soon and there is nothing the enemy can do to stop this.

Front Yard Gymnastics

Front Yard Gymnastics

Sure! I remember those days but that isn’t what this is about.

My sweetie has been seeing the chiropractor several times this month. The pain was very bad in her neck, back and elbow. I am so glad that she was able to get help! Now she seems almost back to her normal self.

One morning she was going somewhere with her mother. I was in the office writing. I didn’t know if she was gone or still home when I headed to the kitchen. It was time to get my drink of Brag’s apple cider vinegar. Before I got there I heard a pounding at the front door. K-Dog was leaping five feet in the air. “Yippie! Yahoo! Look at me! There is someone at the door and I want to lick them!! Bark! Bark!” I had to chase him into another room where I can shut him away from what was going on.

I opened the door and there was my mother-in-law. I came close to saying that I didn’t know where my sweetie was but I stopped and saw that she had fallen at the curb next to her mother’s truck. We tried to get her up. My mother-in-law weighs 85 pounds soaking wet. No way she could be much help. She is so little that I wouldn’t want to sneeze in her general direction thinking that the breeze would send her flying.  A nice lady stopped to help me get my wife up. We were so thankful she came!

Between the two of us, we got her up. My sweet dusted herself off a bit. “Are you ok?” She bumped her self pretty hard. I am sure she would be bruised the next day. She felt like she was able to go off with her mother. When she got back home she showed me the bump on the back of her head. “All that work at the chiropractor gone with one fall.” I answered, “No. I’m sure everything will be fine. Just sit over here and rest.”

Well, we took her to the doctor today and told him what happened. “She was doing front yard gymnastics but couldn’t stick her landing.” I like to keep things light. If I can keep her smiling she might feel just that much better. He checked her over and said that she would be sore for a while but that she is ok. We were glad to hear that. He suggested that we get her a tripod cane. That would be more stability than the cane she usually carries.

It makes me think about the things in life that catch us off guard from time to time. Do you know what I am talking about? I’t is a good practice to be sure that you have that little extra money or income to see us through the rough times. We have found the easy way, JerkyDude.net! All you do is sign up to buy 2 bags of jerky each month and sign up your friends to get theirs too. Everyone you sign up is another $2 each month in your mailbox.
